Embed Tips
This page is for my class and I to remember how to embed videos, powerpoint presentaions as we learn how to do them.
Embed from Slideshare
- Click on the ‘HTML’ tab in edublogs
- Place the cursor at the location you would like the embed
- In slideshare, play the slideshow
- To the right of the slideshow are two embed codes. Do not use these (they will also embed related slideshow which may be inappropriate for children). Instead, click “custom“. This is where you collect the code which ‘excludes related slideshows‘
- Right-click/copy the code beside “embed in your blog” under that heading ‘excludes related slidehsows’
- In edublogs, paste this code
- Click Publish (or if previously published, click ’save’).
I’m in the process of finding out how to remove the ‘related slides’ section which comes up at the end as some are inappropriate for students.
Embed from PhotoShow
- Play the slideshow playing in PhotoShow.
- Click the “Show Info” tab
- Open the ‘HTML’ tab section of the post
- Go to Widgetbox
- Back in PhotoShow, right-click/copy the show’s url
- In widgetbox, paste this url into the widgetbox
- The embed code for ‘wordpress’ in the one we need to copy
- Paste it into the ‘HTML tab’s section of your post
- Click Publish (or save, if the post has been previously published)
Embed from Toondoo
The first time I tried to embed toondoo comics into the HTML tab, a large gap was left above each cartoon. My 9 year old student Sheri however had no difficulty embeding into his own blog and then showing some others how to do this. I will have to ask him how he did so and add the information below.
Cutting off bits of the embed code removed this gap. This is the part of the embed code which I removed.
<br><div style=”font-size: 11px; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, sans-serif; text-align: left; width: 100%;”>by <a href=’http://www.toondoo.com/user/3GK08′>3GK08</a> | <a href=”http://www.toondoo.com”>Make your own at www.toondoo.com</a></div>
